Les vertus du maître à l’heure de l’école inclusive

Abstract : The challenge of the school in a hospital is not only legal and pedagogical, it is also ethical. What are the moral virtues a schoolteacher should have for inclusive education? Tact, a sense of justice and caring seem to be the ones. Beyond this question, however, the challenge facing the teacher is twofold. First of all, it is to show that these qualities form a consistent whole that gives meaning to the notion of ethical presence. The challenge is also to rehabilitate the notion of virtue, but at the same time to redefine it. Virtue is no longer to be considered as a form of self-realization, as Aristotle and his friends suggested, but more modestly as the capacity to act.
