Modélisation multi-échelle des couches minces

Abstract : During the last years, the wear resistance of substrates has been used to be improved by the deposit of single or multilayered coatings on their surface. During the extreme thermal and mechanical loading the coatings greatly enhances the wear resistance of the substrate. The study of the coating behavior leads to a better understanding of its impact on the overall structure. For this purpose, the MAX-FEM model has been extended in order to describe the behavior of such structures, ensuring accurate results without special mesh refinement. The ability of the proposed numerical scheme is demonstrated by solving a 2D mechanical problem. The effectiveness of the model has been tested in terms of convergence and computational time, and systematically compared to a classical finite elements solution.
