Synthesis of amphiphilic, chalcogen-based redox modulators with in vitro cytotoxic activity against cancer cells, macrophages and microbes

Abstract : Several amphiphilic, chalcogen-based redox modulators have been synthesized which exhibit a widespread, yet in some instances also selective, biological activity which is most likely based on their ability to modulate the intracellular redox balance and to interact with cellular membranes and specific proteins.
