Le Diabetoscope® : proposition d'un support de développement de la démarche éducative auprès des patients diabétiques de type 2 en médecine générale. Evaluation de son acceptabilité et du bénéfice tiré de son utilisation par un groupe de médecins généralistes

Abstract : "Help your patients to act on their health," said the recent program "SOPHIA" to promote patient education implemented by the National Health Insurance. This project reflects the awareness by financiers of the therapeutic lever that the educational approach represents, but it confines the role of General Practitioners(GPs) to prescribe educational sessions without getting really committed. Thislack of involvement is an obvious obstacle to the success of therapeutic patient education. To facilitate the contribution of GPs in the educational process, especially among patients with type 2 diabetes, we have built a written support "the diabétoscope." It brings together the approaches of GPs and a team of diabetologist and includes, in a 38-page illustrated guide, the main of good practices to guide the diabetic patient. Emphasis was placed on ergonomics and on the illustrations to promote dialogue with the patient. Our tool was tested by a group of volunteer GPs. By the technique of focus group we evaluated the ergonomics, the acceptability and usability of this tool. We obtain a more precise definition of what may be the participation of physicians in this educational network.
