Le médecin généraliste et les soins non programmés. Une étude concernant le ressenti des médecins généralistes libéraux meusiens face à la prise en charge des urgences

Abstract : The organisation of unscheduled health care in France is complex and constantlyevolving. It counts many players, who either work in hospitals or independently. General practitioners have a crucial role in the support provided to patients and in the unscheduled health care system, given their position as the first medical link in the emergency chain. Their role is reinforced in rural areas, which suffer from a growing medical desertification. Indeed they need to ensure ? the right medical care? to the entire population. This medical support in the first remedy area requires an active participation of GPs and the need for training. The aim of our study is to assess the impression of GPs, via questionnaires, concerning medical support for emergency situations, in their daily practice. The population counts 162 independent GPs, who work in the Meuse. 67 GPs answered our questionnaire. The majority of them don? t feel at ease, or not very much, when faced with an emergency situation and 47 of them are favorable to a tailored training course provided by the CESU 55. In order to improve health care, particularly unscheduled care in rural areas, it would be. useful to provide emergency actions training at the CESU to GPs who are interested. Weshould also continue ongoing action regarding the development of health care homes. These suggestions are part of the current territorial Health project and of the coordination between hospital and independent medicine, based on a health care network
