Abstract : BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES : Transvenous lead extraction is a growing techniquegiven the increasing number of cardiac devices implantation. Between 2000 and 2013, 241 procedures were undergone and 413 leads were extracted in Nancy University Hospital.METHODS: The study cohort consisted of all consecutive patients undergoing transvenous lead extraction of pacemaker or defibrillator lead, between january 2000 and january 2013 in our hospital.RESULTS: Procedural success rate was 82,2%, clinical success rate was 97,1%. Periprocedural mortality was 0,8% and major complication rate was 1,2%. Lead implantation duration was statistically and significantly related to radiological success (p<0,05).CONCLUSION: Our study shows a high clinical and radiological success rate and a major complication rate acceptable regarding to the extraction indications, mainly infectious, with ominous prognosis without extraction
