L'enfant infecté par le VIH : étude de 22 dossiers d'enfants suivis entre 1982 et 2006 au Service des maladies infectieuses et tropicales du CHU de Nancy

Abstract : The following work deals with the retrospective study of the past 24 years (1982 - 2006), carried out at the University Hospital of Nancy which anallyses 22 children contaminated by HIV and takes into account their particularities and the evolution of their care. It reveals that the pronostic of contamination by HIV has improved since the appearance of triple therapy in 1996 with the rate of feotal transmission by mothers which decreased and severe opportunist contamination which now tend to disapear. That's why nowadays contamination by HIV tends to become a chronic illness and the latest cases deal with children of immigrant families. Furthermore, treatments are now simplified and more tolerated. But children remain vulnerable due to precarious social and family environements. So the care of these children has to be necessary multidisciplinary.
