Pré-test auprès de médecins généralistes installés en Lorraine d'un outil informatique d'aide à la prescription en dénomination commune

Abstract : Methods : 1130 General Practitioners answered a survey about the tools .they use for writing out prescriptions using International Nonproprietary Names(INN). The results of this survey instigated the creation of an IT tool dedicated to prescription writing using INNs. A beta-test of this IT tool was carried out with 20 GPs. Results : 9.1% of the GPs never prescribe usingINNs, 41.8% prescribe using INNs but with no IT tool to help them, 45.7% have an JT tool at their disposal, but only 15% of them use it systematically. The rate of prescriptions using INNs rose by 53% during the beta-test, and 13 of the 17 GPs who fully carried out the bet test said they would regularly or occasionally use the tool if it were put at their disposal free of charge. Conclusion : It seems that a tool dedicated to prescription writing using Non Proprietary Names should be offered to the GPs working in Lorraine. But other incentives to prescription writing using INNs will have to back its distribution.
