Élaboration d'un indicateur permettant d'évaluer la biodiversitén floristique des prairies de fauche du Val Sud Meuse (55)

Abstract : An indicator (GALLYC) has been developed and tested on 162 randomly selectd lots in order to evaluate the floristic diversity of the hay meadows located in the Meuse floodplain. 20 test plants have been selected among the various flowered meadows and MAE herbe07 of the région Lorraine. The lots have been analysed according to a 50 square meters triangle located in the uniform portion of the lot, at two different stages of the main species’ life cycle. The GALLYC indicator tends to be available, fast and within the reach of all the general technicians. It appears that 46 % of the tested lots have a low floristic diversity, while 23 % of the tested lots have a high one. The botanical survey seems to confirm these results, with an average of 11 taxons among the low-floristic-diversity plots and 26 taxons among the highfloristic- diversity plots. The main plants available are Cardamina pratensis, then Rumex acetosa and Centaurea, which are to be found in at least 50 % of the plots. This study based on the GALLYC indicator shows a huge disparity between the various meadows of the Meuse valley.
