Abstract : Since 2010, as part of sanitation work, it’s necessary to evaluate the physical quality of the natural environment in order to take into account all the stream features and capacity of selfpurification. In this context, the town of Merschweiller engaged BEPG to realize a diagnosis of the physical condition of waters receiving discharges of sewage system of the municipality: Merschweiller and Manderen streams. The study is composed of four phases that are presented in this report. The first phase consisted of a literature review on existing data of each stream. During the second phase, BEPG contacted the municipality and local fishing association to obtain additional informations on the streams. The third phase consisted of the realization of the diagnosis of streams based on field investigations to determine the main issues. In a fourth phase, the costed action proposals were realized to improve the physical quality of streams.
