Evaluation de la tenue du partogramme au sein de la maternité de l’Hôpital Ayres de Menezes

Abstract : The evaluation of the holding of the partograph in the maternity Hospital Ayres de Menezes comes within the framework of the implementation of a maternal and infant mortality reduction project funded by the European Union in Sao Tome and Principe. The objective of this study is to conduct an evaluation to assess the pantographs’ level of compliance compared to existing professional recommendations. Identifying strengths and weaknesses of the holding of the partograph will then give rise to the development of recommendations and proposed corrective actions. A clinical audit was performed on forty partographs that have been evaluated from a grid of twenty-nine criteria, divided into three main objectives. Following this work of collecting and analyzing data, the results were shared with the medical team of the maternity. The exchanges and discussions have identified some of the causes of the deficiencies but also to consider corrective actions appropriate to the context and the means available.
