Abstract : A great deal of the Anglo-Saxon academic literature focus on the fact that girls and boys live differently interactions with their teachers : boys generally benefit from more numerous interactions, more information and criticisms. Most of studies on teacher-student interactions focused on observed data. The purpose of this article was to analyse the gender differences on teacher-student verbal interactions with observed and perceived data. A methodology includes a corpus of 2 PE lessons concerning physical activity such as handball in a French educational context. One man and one woman were videotaped with 25 girls and 16 boys. Boys and girls are different on the nature of the feed-back they receive from the teacher. Indeed, girls received more praises than boys in handball. Boys received more criticisms than girls.
