Dimensionnement des échangeurs et étude des transferts thermiques de fluides supercritiques

Abstract : This study is devoted to the project SURORC on the supercritical Organic RANKINE cycles. At first, a bibliography study was conducted in order to understand the problem of heat transfer and pressure drop of fluids at supercritical pressures. For a better understanding the supercritical fluid flow in horizontal tube, subject to gravity, a numerical study is conducted with the standard - model of FLUENT. Specificities of supercritical fluids make this area of study sensitive to understand heat transfer which can take place in the heat exchanger. The objectives of the two first studies are to choose prediction methods for supercritical heat transfer and to do a sizing calculation of heat exchanger for supercritical fluid. After the sizing calculation, we compare the performance of heat exchanger which operates with two-phase subcritical fluid and heat exchanger which operates with supercritical fluid. The results of the sizing calculation of heat exchanger show that, the performances of heat exchanger which operate with natural fluids (CO2 propane) are better. Due to the importance of the pressure drop with the heat exchanger operating with two-phase subcritical fluid, the heat exchanger operating with supercritical fluid presents more benefits.
