Design and Efficient Synthesis of Fullerene Bismalonates as Building Blocks for Metal Organic Frameworks and Organic Nanostructures

Abstract : The preparation of bismalonate fullerene derivatives bearing useful sticky sides for the generation of nanostructures has been investigated. In this context, pyridine and cyano heading groups on fullerenes have been designed and synthesized in a straightforward manner and in good yields.
