Evolution spatio-temporelle de températures de surface diurnes dans l'aire métropolitaine de Metz à partir de données Landsat

Abstract : The diachronic study of diurnal Land Surface temperatures (LST) in the metropolitan area of Metz is achieved using Landsat satellite imagery for a period ranging from 1985 to 2019. The method followed uses the Land Surface temperatures calculated by the Mono-Window (MW) algorithm developed by Qin ad al. (2001). The thermographs obtained are then analyzed to identify areas of moderate and intense heating as well as urban cool areas. Subsequently, the NDVI and NDBI indices, which are characteristic of land use change, are connected to the LST. The objective is then to explore the impacts of different types of land use on LST by calculating the UTFVI ecological index. The comparison of the multidate thermographs and the correlation analysis between the various indices indicate that strong heating areas in the urban area of Metz experienced a clear spatial extension and intensification between 1985 and 2019. This could be explained by the development of several outlaying industrial/commercial areas during the period under study.
