Abstract : We study some memoirs of military campaign written by officers; but not senior officers. We study the reasons why they wrote about their military campaign. Why did they keep memory(ies) alive ? Among these reasons, there was the wish to glorify the king or the greats of the kingdom, but also a wish to make military education, last there were some memoirs of military campaign which was autobiographical writing. We also analyse the evolution of these documents throughout the 17th and 18th centuries, especially with an important place of technicals aspect.
