Carbon paste electrode modified with 5-Br-PADAP as a new electrochemical sensor for the detection of inorganic mercury(II)
Résumé
A differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) method was developed for the sensitive and selective determination of mercury(II) with a 2-(5’-Bromo-2’-pyridylazo)-5-diethylaminophenol (5-Br-PADAP) modified carbon paste electrode (CPE). The optimized experimental conditions, for determination of mercury(II) with cathodic differential pulse voltammetry at 5-Br-PADAP-CPE, include: supporting electrolyte: acetate buffer (0.1 mol.L-1), pH: 4.7, amount of mixed 5-Br-PADAP in the CPE: 0.2% (w/w), open circuit accumulation time: 120 s. The monitored current was linear over the range of 3 10-8 – 1.8 10-7 and the detection limit is 10-8 mol.L-1. The relative standard deviation for 10 successive determinations of Hg(II) was 1.6%. A study of interfering substances was also performed and the method was applied to the direct determination of mercury in real samples.
