Management of the energy storage hybridization in electric vehicles
Abstract
Hybridization of energy storage system (HESS) consists of integration of several energy sources in one system. Coordination between these energy sources is carried out by the energy management system (EMS). The efficiency of the EMS depends highly on the strategy adopted. It considers the advantages of each energy storage element to improve battery lifespan and/or fuel economy and to hasten the adoption of sustainable transportation. Comparison of energy storage technologies is highlighted, topologies of HESSs are depicted, and a state-of-the-art of energy management strategies are also presented. Simulation tests are carried out. Conclusion and prospects will end up the article.
