This chapter gives a brief overview of the additive manufacturing of biopolymers. First, it clarifies the meaning of “biopolymers”, then provides a classification of biopolymers based on their source and biodegradability. Also, the applicable techniques for additive manufacturing of biopolymers are described as well as the main challenges of each printing method. In the end, a brief description of each chapter and its mission in the frame of the present book is given.
