Architecture de supervision et modèle de comptabilité pour le multicast IP

Abstract : While IP Multicast is becoming very attractive thanks to its efficient routing mechanism, its large deployment and commercial use is slowed down partly due to the lack of efficient management solutions. Different solutions and management architectures were proposed in the literature but present all insufficiencies for an efficient management. This thesis deals with the Accounting management function of the Multicast. We propose a profitable commercial model for the different entities implied by the Multicast. We propose equally extensions of different cost allocation strategies to support Multicast dynamics and we study by simulation their performances. This thesis presents also an high distributed management architecture for IP Multicast. This architecture distributes as much as possible both data and management functions and satisfies Multicast dynamics and scalability issues. AMAM (Active Based Management Architecture for IP Multicast) implements this architecture using active technology. It supports efficiently different management functions notably the accounting and the security ones. A distributed management platform for integrated Multicast Monitoring is finally proposed in this thesis.
