Greffage de chaînes hydrocarbonées et perfluorées sur le bois et étude des propriétés conférées aux nouveaux matériaux

Abstract : The studies undertaken during thèse research concerns the development of new methods of chemical modification of wood based on the use of strongly hydrophobic products such as compounds with alkyl or perfluoroalkyl chains in order to increase its dimensional stability and its resistance to microorganisms. The first part relates the chemical modification of wood using either perfluorinated symmetrical anhydrides or activated anhydrides obtained starting from fatty acids and trifluoroacetic anhydride. After having checked the feasibility of these reactions on sawdust, the transposition of the differents treatments on beach blocks allows to highlight an increase in dimensional stability, an increase of the hydrophobic alcohols (fatty or perfluorinated alcohols) on wood using a diisocyanate as link of anchoring. Several strategies were considered using either alcohol/diisocyanate mixtures, alcohol-diisocyanate monoadduct or the blocked alcohol-diisocyanate-methylethylketoxime adduct. In all cases, the modification leads to an hydrophobation of the surface, an increase in the dimensional stability and an increase of the resistance to the microorganism.Studies by transmission electronic microscopy permits to locate the grafting, which is mainly at the surface of the secondary wall and in the lumen constituting and hydrophobic barrier to moisture and to microorganisms.
