Réalisation d'un spectromètre RQN (Résonance Quadrupolaire Nucléaire) pour l'observation de l'azote-14 : Expériences de nutation et simulations

Abstract : In this work we present a home-made experimental device devoted to Nitrogen-14 Nuclear Quadrupole Resonance experiments. In a first chapter we recall the basics of NQR in the case of a spin 1 (as this is the case for Nitrogen-14). The second part is essentially a description of the spectrometer. This part also includes the first experimental results that we obtained. Chapter three is the theoretical framework of this thesis with derivation of equations that express the effect of a radiofrequency pulse. We focus on the nutation curve and we show that there exist different behaviors according to the symmetry of the electric field gradient tensor. Experiments confirm this theoretical finding. In the last part, we present simulation results obtained with a software developed at ISL (Institut de recherche de Saint-Louis), this thesis being achieved within a partnership between the NMR methodologies group and ISL.
