Traitement de conversion du zinc à base d'acides carboxyliques

Abstract : ln recent years, a new family of corrosion inhibitors in neutral media bas been characterised by the chemistry of mineraI solid laboratory (LCSM). For ecological concern, organic aliphatic acids have been choose. ln acid solution, a new surface treatment named "carboxylatation" is the result of these studies. Formed layers with a thickness of few microns are crystallised like phosphate conversion coatings. These layers improve wear corrosion resistance of zinc electrodeposited steel and make metal stamping easier. Consequently carboxylatation could be an alternative to light phosphatation. On zinc, effect of process parameters on coating formation (concentration, pH, kind of acid, .. .) was studied. Formation of layer and their destruction in corrosive media were also studied by atomic emission spectoelectrochemistry (AES-ICP with electrochemical cell). Structures of some zinc carboxylates were found by means of X-ray diffraction. ln order to decrease the solubility of zinc carboxylate and to improve the aqueous corrosion resistance of zinc electrodeposited steel, we tried to substitute zinc cation by trivalent cation in the coating.
