Contribution à l'automatisation du processus d'acquisition de formes complexes à l'aide d'un capteur laser plan en vue de leur contrôle géométrique

Abstract : Today, complex free form parts can be created. Geometry of such a parts has to be controlled quickly. The main objective of this thesis is the study of an automated process for the measurement of a part known by its CAD model. It means that models, algorithms and associated methodologies are needed to automatically scan a 3D part. In fact, even if the 3D sensors technologies improve day after day to become easy to use and powerful, the determining of the scanning strategy is still a very interactive and intuitive task. The knowledge and the experience of the user have a big influence on the resulting point clouds quality. Two criteria are chosen to define this quality. There are the accuracy of the scanned points and their density. The CAD based approach that is presented to automatically generate the 3D sensor path planning is composed by 6 steps. For the 1st to the 3rd steps, local, global and real visiblility of the part are calculated by using the visibility theory apply to a Gaussian sphere. Next, in a 4th step, the number of the directions needed to scan the entire part are determine by an heuristic. In the 5th step, the CAD models that are associated with each scanning direction are extracted from the CAD model of the part. Finally, a path planning module has been developed to define the sensor trajectories taking into account both the optical qualities of the sensor and the part geometry to optimise the point clouds quality and to avoid collisions.
