Localisation de services dans les réseaux ad hoc

Abstract : To get benefit from a network service, the user has to be provided with the address of this service. Currently, the tendency is to deploy a new concept that is based on an ubiquitous universal connectivity. This connectivity has to take into account the integration of a service location protocol which role is to offer to the user a flexible access to the services. We have been interested in this thesis to service discovery in ad hoc networks. We propose to use a reactive multicast deployed at the application layer and which role is to ensure 1-to-N broadcasting for client request transmission and N-to-1 broadcasting or tree/mesh gather for service answer transmission. We propose to use two gather mechanisms: the gather in a tree and the gather in a mesh. The performance dependency of these functionalities namely service location and multicasting on the underlying layer performances motivates us to be interested in studying smart antenna based MAC protocols for ad hoc networks.
