Etude des possibilités d'extension tissulaire sous l'effet d'une traction uni-axiale et applications cliniques

Abstract : Tissular extension, based on the faculty of the skin 10 be strained when subject 10 a traction force, is an essential property of life. If pluri-axial extension is well known in surgery its uni-axial form, after many controversies especially considering pre-stitching, seems interesting if applied in a progressive way. After studying tolerance of the skin to endure an increasive tension, it seems obvious that a moderate constraint allows, by repetition of constraints and relaxations, to gain a substantial amount of skin. The clinical experience confirms this study when it comes to distribute tissues but also when a tissular growth must be obltained. This procedure, though of high utility in our series for the limbs or body, remains contestable for the face where classical or microsurgical procedures shall remain the rule.
