Comportement comparé de jeunes plants de 3 provenances algériennes de pin d'Alep (Pinus halepensis Mill.) cultivés en conditions hydriques limitantes et non limitantes : croissance et développement, composition glucidique et macrominérale

Abstract : 3 algerian Aleppo pine provenances (Pinus halepensis Mill.), have been used for the description of the growth, morphological characteristics and Carbohydrates and macromineral composition of each part of the plant : - Djelfa is a semi- arid continental zone, - Baïnem a subhumid littordl zone, - Ténès a semi-arid littoral zone. Seedlings have been cultured during 6 months in minirhizotrons with different water conditions. The higher predawn shoot potential was -1 ,2 MPa. ln term of growth, the 3 provenances showed similar behaviour. Without restricted water condition, the seedlings exhibited a low shoot development and a dimorphic root system (taproot and horizontal superticial laterals). Under the restricted water conditions, root and shoot hiomass increased, axillary bud hreak occured and both taproot and laterals development were stimulated. ln contrast, analys is of the carbohydrate fraction (starch, sucrose and total soluble carhohydrates) showedl important differences between provenances. Without restricted water condition, the carbohydrates are under soluble form in Baïnem and Ténès, availahle immediatly in the limited water conditions. In contrast, Djelfa predominantly stored insoluble carbohydrates in non restricted water condition. These one were hydrolysed during restricted water conditions. Macromineral content is different according to the provenances. Without restricted water condition, the total ionic concentration in the whole plant was higher in Djelfa than in Baïnem and Ténès provenances. Cations (K + , and NH4 + and Cl-) were the most abundant. In limited water conditions, some ions are supposed to be implied in osmotical adjustments mechanisms. In conclusion, though the 3 provenances have some morphological similarities, their nutritional characteristics are obviously different. These results indicate that water stress induces dlifferent physiological responses according to the provenance.
