Etude des effets de l'hypoxie chronique sur les apprentissages moteurs? : approche neuropsychologique et cognitive

Abstract : aEight subjects exposed to chrome hypoxia for 31 days during a sirnulated climb to 8848 m ("Everest-Cornex 97") were investigated using a cognitive task (number ordination), a sensorimotor task (binary visual choice reaction time) and psychomotor tasks (manual dexterity associated or not with a symbol recognition task). Exposure ta hypoxia led to cognitive and psychomotor skills learning deficits, cornpared with a control study. The pattern of results suggests that the psychomotor skills leaming deficits produced by hypoxia would result from dysfunctions at the level of the strategie motor processes, that are thought to depend of the prefrontal cortex. In contrast, automatic processes would be spared by hypoxia. Our data further suggest that working memory may contribute to the strategie motor processes.
