Etudes théoriques et pratiques des phénomènes liés à la transition des bobines supraconductrices en régime de décharge impulsionnelle

Abstract : A superconducting magnet energy storage is used for a pulsed power peak application. The transition of the superconducting thread causes the current decade. We can recover the stored energy through a second wire which is magnetically cou pied with the superconducting one and on which the load is connected. Designing su ch a system needs to solve coupled problems consisting in currents variations, flux density and temperature distributions in the superconducting wire. We have developped a software which takes account of parameters nonlinearity (thermal conductivity, electrical resistivity, ... ). thermal anisotropy due to the low thermal contact beetwen two contiguous loops and nonuniform flux density distribution. The resolution is a 3D one. These results lead to the buiding of a 2 kJ demonstration model which enabled to confirm some theoritical results.
