Cristallogenèse et étude structurale, thermique et spectroscopique du p-Nitrophénolate de Sodium Dihydraté (NPNa) : [Na(C6H4ONO2)].2H2O Rôle du groupement organique et des liaisons hydrogène dans les propriétés vibrationnelles et d'ordre-désordre

Abstract : Sodium p-nitrophenolate dihydrate (NPNa) was grown by slow evaporation and examined by x-ray procession in order to control its structure. The thermal analysis (DSC and TG) has been made in order to specify the zone of stability of this material. The infrared and Raman spectra were measured at various temperatures for the first time. The observed modes has been assigned. Phase transition has been detected by a suitable analysis of Raman spectra as function of temperature. The reported transition is of second order and order-disorder type and the temperature of transition was 138 K. The temperature dependance analysis of spectral parameters (frequency, damping, intensity) of the selected Raman bonds by ideal models made it possible to release from information very significant relating to the physical mechanism responsible for this transition. A detailed study of ?hydrogen bonded? O-H...O was carried out. The hydrogen bond frequencies were detected and their behaviour with increasing temperature has been studied. The NPNa powder has been characterized by « SHEW » (Second Harmonic wave generated with Evanescent Wave) method. This method made it possible to evaluate the effective non-linear coefficient and the refractive indices by measuring the second harmonic wave power at 532 nm, observed in reflection generated by evanescent wave of a fundamental beam at 1064 nm. The obtained results show that the NPNa is a good material for second harmonic generation
