Optimisation multicritère de procédés discontinus d'homopolymérisation et de copolymérisation en émulsion

Abstract : The aim of this study is the multicriteria optimization of batch processes of emulsion homopolymerization of styrene and copolymerization of styrene and alpha-methylstyrene. The obtained products are characterized by sorne properties that have to be optimized for a given application. The first part aims at the modeling of the polymerization reactor to describe the main phenomenons in the process. A dynamical model of the system is essential in optimization algorithms. It is a tendency model which allows the description of the main variables of the process: concentration of monomers, number of particles, molecular weights distribution and copolymer composition. The identification of the model parameters is then carry out in comparison with available experimental data, using maximum likelihood technique. The model is then used as a simulator to predict polymer properties, function of initial operating conditions. The second part deals with the multicriteria analysis of the two studied processes. The decision aid problem consists in obtaining the best tradeoff as possible from all fixed objectives. The methodological approach is developed -in two distihct steps. The first step deals with multicriteria optimization to have an interest zone, obtained objectively and without a priori choice. The multicriteria optimization technique is elaborated from a diploid genetic algorithm. Subjectivity is introduced in the second step to choose the best solution or to rank all potential solutions.
