Etude de monomères acryliques et thioacryliques soufrés et phosphorés

Abstract : Acrylic and thioacrylic monomers containing sulfur and/or phosphorus are described. They are mainly obtained by different condensations of sulfuretted and phosphorated compounds on acrylic derivatives. First, the compounds containing sulfur and/or phosphorus have been prepared such as sulfuretted alcohols and chlorides, mercaptans, (thio)phosphoryl chlorides, dithiophosphoric acids, many of them with various radicals. Thus, acrylic monomers have been synthesized from these products : sulfuretted acrylic monomers : either by esterification of AA and AMA with sulfuretted alcohols or by P.T.C.of AK and MAK with sulfuretted chlorides. The last method has been applied to a great number of sulfuretted chlorides with good yields. Some of these compounds have been oxidized in sulfinyl and sulfonyl derivatives by action of hydrogen peroxide. Yields are almost quantitative. Thioacrylic monomers : different methods described in the literature have been tested. The main factors which have an influence on the "thioesterification" or Michael addition (by side reaction) have been determined. A new way has therefore been focused. Yields obtained are good and usually better than those cited of the literature. Phosphorated acrylic monomers : phosphorus has been introduced in the form P(V) as phosphoric, or as mono or dithiophosphoric esters. The work-up of most of the reactions tested are easy and allow to obtain products with good yields. Sulfur and phosphorus have been introduced by similar ways in [alpha] of the acrylic system from either ethyl [alpha]-hydroxymethyllacrylic ester or ethyl [alpha]-bromomethylacrylic ester. Most of the synthesized monomers are new. Three patents have been registered by ATOCHEM, and an other one is at present time being studied
