Hydrologie et karstologie du bassin du Loison (Woëvre septentrionale - Lorraine)

Abstract : The paper investigates the relationships between the substratum, morphogenesis, climate, and flowing modes in the loison basin which is characteristic of northern woevre. The first part examines the specific factors of low from a geophysical viewpoint: lithological oppositions linked to the tectonic features of northern lorraine, hydrography dependent on river meuse (maas), inherited morphogenesis, climate with irregular rainfall and contrasted temperatures. The second part is devoted to a study of hydrological data aloowing to specify the regime of river loison in relation to the physical complex of the basin. The shares of surface and groundwater flows are established for each stream on the basis of hydrological balances. The third part deals with the various types of relief and flow in a karst envrionnement, specifically in the loison-othain interfluve which has a covered karst, the delut basin is used as reference for the study of karst hydrodynamics and erosion
