Effets de l'aluminium sur l'activité de la cholineacétyltransférase cérébrale et sur la nutrition chez le rat en développement

Abstract : In adult rats the CAT was inhibited by Al chloride in vitro ; this inhibition increased with increasing Al concentrations. In the 15 days old rats, the enzyme was inhibited at low Al concentrations and actived at high Al concentrations. Then was no effect on the enzyme activity in young rats from dams orally intoxicated by Al chloride during gestation. On the contrary, when young rats were treated by gastric intubation with Al chloride or Al lactate from postnatal days 5 to 14, the Al concentrations in the cerebral areas increased and the CAT activity was reduced. In the same case, the Al concentrations in the ligrowth of the treated rats was delayed in comparison with control. The intoxications realized in the same conditions in adult rats have no significant effects. On the contrary, non uraemic and uraemic adult rats, treated with subacute doses of Al chloride by I.P. injection, were anorexic and their weight was reduced. The Al concentrations increased very much in the liver and slightly in the cerebral areas. The decrease of the CAT activity in the cerebral areas could not be attributed to undernutrition
