Les polysulfures : réactif d'inertage des métaux lourds dans les déchets sidérurgiques

Abstract : Faced with the environment protection, the management of steelmaking wastes brings up the problem of the leaching of heavy metals like zinc, lead or cadmium. For dust and sludge intended for landfilling, a reaction of sulfuration is an average to make inert these toxic elements in the form of insoluble components. The study of a process concerns the chemical action of polysulfides solutions. The synthesis of this kind of reagent is optimised and the control of solutions focused. The kinetic of sulfuration of different mineralogical forms of zinc, the most problematical element for steel industry, is studied. It evidences the mineralogical transformation of leaching phases with a reaction time quite compatible with an industrial operation. The bases of a simple and rapid sulfuration process are established in treating wastes arising from different stages of steelmaking. The detoxication reality is proved by means of leaching tests. Therefore, an industrial application can be considered
