Le sanctuaire gallo-romain de Mazamas, à Saint-Leomer (Vienne)

Abstract : This site has been occupied since the middle Neolithic age (around 3500 years b.c.). The first Celtic traditional sanctuary was replaced in the second part of the first a.d. by twin classic temples. This sanctuary, at the border of the lemovices, the bituriges cubi and the pictons, was leaved during the 3rd and demolished in the 4 th century. The archeological finds from the excavations (coins, ceramics, various objects, architectural stones) are exhibited in the museum at montmorillon, in france.
