Contribution à la simulation analytique et physique du forgeage précis : application à l'élaboration de pignons

Abstract : The transverse forging seems us to be the most adapted process to elaborate straight or helical spur gears by forging. The hyperelastic bahvior of the plasticine renders it inappropriate to simulate quantitatively the final filling phase of the engraving in cases of flashless forging. A concept of optimal adaptation band has been introduced, to be applied in the upper bound method and to avoid discontinuities between deformed regions when a viscoplastic material is involved. Two analytical modelings describing the filling end in both cases of transverse forging and upsetting have been developed and validated. An analytical approach processing the case of transverse forging of spur straight or helical gears has been developed. Considering the rather good convergence with the experiment, this model appears to be validated. A study on the extraction of forged gear has evidenced the important role of the lubricant. An adaptation of the minimal strain method, used to process grids undergoing large strains, to cases of continuous flow has been proposed
