Pratiques info-communicationnelles des usagers des dispositifs numériques. Théorie de l’acteur-réseau

Abstract : In view of the quantity, variety, and speed of data production in the digital age, information and communication technologies (ICT) are a central element of today’s information-communication practices. The purpose of this article is to study the concept of “information-communication practices” which, according to a non-exhaustive exploratory first reading of the scientific literature, does not seem to have been the subject of dedicated studies. We report the beginning of a thesis work (in progress) that examines the role played by digital devices in the construction of users' information-communication practices. This study uses the conceptual framework of the actor-network theory (ANT) and explores the important sociotechnical aspects of the development of connections between digital devices and individuals, in order to better understand their informational and communicational practices in the era of digital humanities. In a socio-technical context such as this, the contributions of human actors (users, designers, etc.) and non-human actors (connected objects, online platforms, programming languages, etc.) must be taken into account.
