Temporalités de la controverse sur le nucléaire en Lorraine : temps "long" des désaccords, temps "infini" des déchets radioactifs

Abstract : Many discourses of the public debate about nuclear energy seem to be time-based. From the case of the nuclear debate in Lorraine, the paper shows how our relation to time can help us to think about controversies. The approach in communication studies focuses on time experiences of the nuclear power, as well as the periodization of actors’ disagreements. More than being an abstract data, time brings also political stakes in the balance of power between the opponents and advocates of nuclear power. Time is also a topic they can’t avoid as they say how they foresee controversial projects in the future in order to be heard in the public debate.
