L’Institut international de coopération intellectuelle : comment promouvoir un enseignement répondant à l’idéal internationaliste (1931-1937) ?

Abstract : This article delves into the functioning and logic of action of the IIIC in a sociopolitical context (Intellectual Cooperation and the League of Nations) and a period (1931–1936) in which it became fundamental to advocate for the revision of textbooks. While the framework of the IIIC’s work and the relative autonomy of this institution and its agents were hampered by very limited human and financial resources, the IIIC gradually established itself as an agency working on educational issues, in particular the revision of textbooks. It was able to do so in an original and pragmatic way, which certainly had political and diplomatic implications.
