Les processus de construction des territoires transfrontaliers en Europe : éléments d'analyse

Abstract : This paper aims to underline the processes of cross-border re-compositions which are currently occurring along the internal European borders. Firstly, we propose an interpretation key with a systemic approach in order to understand the building of cross-border territories. It consists in measuring the degree of territorial integration and examining the reality and the potentialities of a cross-border development. Secondly, we apply the approach to the setting-up of the Hajdú-Bihar-Bihor euroregion which is localized on the Hungarian-Romanian border. We explain the processes of structuring, institutionalizing and appropriation which have been identified in the general analysis and which are put back here into their context.
