Estudio geográfico de la energía eólica en castilla y león

Abstract : Energy is probably the principal factor that explains the evolution of the companies and the territories from the 18th century, with the expansion of industrial processes and the demand of energetic resources. But centring in the last decades, most of the western economies have assumed the need to limit his consumption and specially to reduce the dependence of the fossil fuels, so much for strategic as environmental motives. It has justified the strong impulse that from the nineties of last century the sector of the renewable energies has tested. Spain has occupied relevant positions for renewable energies and especially the region of Castile and León where the energetic production has a long tradition. From ends of last century this territory has proved to be especially active in the implantation of the electrical production from the force of the wind. The present Thesis takes as an object the geographical study of the wind development happened in Castile and León, penetrating into the process, the factors and agents who have contributed to it is the first autonomous community in terms of installed power and electrical generation from the wind power. In order to concentrate and to manage to extract concussions on the troubled frames and the social valuation there were selected Alta Sanabria's county, Los Montes de Torozos and the administrative limit between Burgos -Castile and León- and Cantabria. From these study cases we try to contribute new knowledge on some questions as the social acceptance of the wind development, the configuration of troubled frames to local scale and the emergency of new meanings in the landscape. The choice of the cases has been realized with the aim to advance in the comprehension of the factors, processes and territorial transformations linked to the wind development. These case studies are defined in virtue to the social dynamics, the processes and the conflicts that take part in the social construction of the landscape and his own territorial configuration. The dense work of interviews and the suitable documentation allows to us to the social agents to identify firstly those structural factors and of change that they articulate the landscape to local scale, understood this one as a totalizer of economic, historical, social, environmental, and technical aspects between others. Later there is approached for every study of case the managerial and administrative dimension in that the wind development places. Finally, with the interest of knowing the territorial dimension of the wind development we examine the conflicts that have emerged. From them we will manage to know the reasons of social acceptance or opposition to the wind development at local scale.
